Daarul Ikhlaash Islamic Boarding School Students No Longer Crammed Together After KPC Builds Classrooms

Students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (equivalent to junior high school) and Madrasah Aliyah (SMA), Pondok Pesantren Daarul Ikhlaash, can now breathe a sigh of relief. The learning atmosphere that had previously been cramped sharing space with other students, no longer occurs.

This was after PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) through the Community Empowerment Program (PPM) in the Education Sector, built three additional classrooms for Pondok Pesantren Daarul Ikhlaash. The construction of the three classrooms of the Islamic Boarding School located on Jalan Poros Sangatta-Bontang KM 5 was completed and handed over on Thursday (11/28/2024).

“The building of these classrooms is a big dream and hope for us and the students here. Because our students are no longer accommodated in this Islamic Boarding School. So far, the students have been crammed together sharing a room with other students. Thank you KPC for the construction of these three classrooms,” said Ustadz Abdul Rahman, Deputy Leader of the Daarul Ikhlaash Islamic Boarding School Foundation.

Rahman explained that his Islamic Boarding School has dozens of male and female students, who come from Sangatta City and its surroundings. The Islamic Boarding School has two formal educations, namely MTS (Madrasah Tsanawiyah) at the junior high school level and MA (Madrasah Aliyah) at the senior high school level.

Nanang Surpriyadi, Manager of Community Empowerment (CE) KPC, met by the Satumakna.id coverage team, said that the building made of ironwood has an area of 108 M2, with classrooms measuring 6 x 6 M2. The three-local Islamic Boarding School building spent the Community Empowerment Program (PPM) or CSR budget for the 2023-2024 budget year of Rp. 259 million.

As a form of empowerment for local contractors, the construction of the three-local building collaborated with PT Arkam, a local contractor on the Local Business Development list. (*)
