KPC Wins 12 ICA and ISDA Awards 2024

Also Wins The Most Committed on Environmental Pillar

PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) has once again proven that its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program and environmental performance are the best in Indonesia. This can be seen from the recognition in the form of awards received at the Indonesia CSR Award (ICA) and Indonesia Sustainable Development Goals Award (ISDA) in 2024, at the Rafles Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday (11/28/2024).

At the annual event held by the Corporate Forum for CSR Award (CFCD), KPC won 12 awards. Five awards from the ICA event and seven awards from the ISDA 2024 event.

“This award was achieved thanks to the high commitment of the company’s leadership. That we must always implement CSR in accordance with SNI and ISO 26000: 2013 standards. This is a guideline for social responsibility programs and is aligned with the SDGs program,” said Wawan Setiawan, General Manager of External Affairs and Sustainable Development (SED).

At the ICA event, KPC won two highest awards, namely Platinum, from the environmental program. The two programs are Octa Filtration and Eco mode or Xpro. The Octa Filtration System program is designed to rejuvenate the oil life of KPC operational units. Meanwhile, the Eco mode program is an effort to reduce gas emissions from truck operations by operating SMART ECO MODE and X-PRO Dump Body.

This eco mode program is installed on trucks to save fuel. On uphill roads, the truck automatically increases power, conversely on flat roads the power is reduced to save fuel.

Three other awards from the ICA event, among others, won one gold from the education program and two best awards in the individual category. The education award was contributed from the alignment program with KPC, regarding the SMKN 1 Rantau Pulung Industrial Curriculum, Computer Network Engineering. Meanwhile, the individual category award was won by Wiji Resmiati, CSR Officer from Community Empowerment and Rahmad Hidayat, CSR Partner Program in the health sector and strengthening BUMDesa institutions.

Meanwhile, the seven awards from the 2024 ISDA event include two platinums from the UKM and Kampung Beragam programs. Two golds for the environmental program, one gold for the Health program, the best 1 category for local heroes, and one award for the most committed to environmental pillar.

UKM platinum was won from a program entitled Becoming Resilient in UKM Tangguh 3. This program is a training and mentoring program for entrepreneurship for MSME actors in East Kutai. Meanwhile, the platinum from the Kampung Beragam program carries out mentoring activities for RT and Dasawisma communities in Sangatta City, which have been active in waste management and environmental greening.

The three golds won by KPC were contributed from three programs, namely coaching and involvement of local contractors in supporting the provision of one million seedlings in the KPC reclamation area and community-based HIV/AIDS prevention and control with the Kutai Timur Regency Regional AIDS Commission (KPAD KUTIM). Another gold was contributed from the behavior change program for filling out the Pre-Start Check sheet for light vehicles using the STIKER application (Integrated Light Vehicle Inspection System), to reduce paper waste. Meanwhile, for the individual category, it was won by Sulityawati, the owner of Bengalon amplang. Sulityawati was nominated by KPC as a Local Hero, because the business she pioneered has absorbed many jobs and provided benefits for the suppliers of her amplang production. (*)
