KPC Received the Highest Award for ISDA 2021

The Indonesia Sustainable Development Awards (ISDA) 2021 was held by the Corporate Forum for CSR Development (CFCD), Friday (17/9/2021), at the JS Luwansa Hotel, Jakarta. Indonesian Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, gave a speech which was read online by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK), Prof Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, MA. The Coordinating Minister for Economics, Dr (Hc) Airlangga Hartarto, was also present at the event by online.

 

In this event, PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) received 22 awards, nine of which were in the Platinum category and 13 others in the Gold category. In addition, two KPC partners won the Best I award in the Corporate Partner category, won by Adi Mulyono, Head of Administration for UPT P4 Bengalon, East Kutai Regency Agriculture Office. Next, Head of Rantau Pulung District, Mulyono, won the Best II title for the Local Hero category.

This achievement has led the company that carries the slogan ‘more than mining’ to be named The Top Corporate Leadership for SDGs 2021, which is a predicate for the highest award for ISDA 2021. In addition to winning the award as The Top Corporate Leadership for SDGs, at this event, KPC won the Most Committed Company in Social, Economy and Environment award.

This award was given by Dr Ir Wahyu Utomo MS, Deputy for Regional Development and Spatial Planning at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy and received by Wawan Setiawan, General Manager External Affairs and Sustainable Development (ESD) of PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC).

Wawan after receiving the award expressed his gratitude to the Government of East Kutai Regency and East Kalimantan Province for their guidance and direction to KPC, so that the company can achieve The Top Corporate Leadership for SDGs. Not to forget, Wawan also expressed his gratitude to the employees and program beneficiaries as well as institutions collaborating with KPC in the program.

Wawan emphasized that the award is not the main thing that KPC wants to achieve, but this award is an evaluation material for the programs that have been carried out. “Through this award, we can evaluate ourselves and this award proves that KPC has carried out CSR programs properly and correctly,” said Wawan.

KPC’s Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ido Hutabarat said, since the beginning, KPC’s CSR programs have always been aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). According to Ido, the SDGs are a universal call to act to protect the planet earth and the continuous improvement of the economic welfare of the community, the sustainability of the social life of the community with good environmental quality from one generation to the next in 2030.

“That is the reason why KPC’s CSR program is directed to fulfil the SDGs goals. We are trying to take a role in fighting poverty, maintaining a sustainable earth and increasing people’s prosperity,” said Ido.

Chairman of CFCD Ir. Thendri Supriatno MBA in a press release said, ISDA 2021 is the fourth event held by the Corporate Forum for CSR Development (CFCD). This event was held to encourage companies to jointly achieve sustainable development in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“The assessment and awarding is important for corporations that carry out energy savings, environmental conservation, social activities in the community and various other positive things. By holding ISDA, of course, corporations will compete in providing the best things to stakeholders including the surrounding community,” said Thendri .(*)
