KPC Awarded Subroto Award from Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources

PT. Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) won an award ini mining and energy. This time, KPC wont the Subroto Award 2018 on the night of the Subroto Award 2018 presentation. The award handed directly by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ignasius Jonan and was accepted by KPC Chief Operating Officer (COO) Muhammad Rudy, in XXI Ballroom, Djakarta Theater, Jakarta, Friday (28/9).

KPC won the Subroto Award category Mineral and Coal Mining Safety Management, in the field of Safety, Environment, Mineral and Coal Mining Services Business, along with six other companies. The category is one of six award category given at Subroto Award 2018.

General Manager External Affair and Sustainable Development (ESD) KPC Wawan Setiawan expressed his gratitude for the selection of KPC as one of the companies that won the Subroto Award 2018.

The award received according to Wawan is proof tha KPC is committed to implementing safety standards in its mining operation. “Thanks to the Minister ESDM for this acknowledgment. This award shows that we still have a high commitment to mining safety in KPC,” said Wawan.

The Subroto Award was held to welcome the 73rd Mining and Energy Day, 2018. Moreover, it was a form of respect for professor Subroto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in 1978-1988. Professor Subroto is considered as the teacher and the foundation for the development of energy and minerals in Indonesia.

The Minister of ESDM Ignasius Jonan in his remarks said that the award was given to stakeholders in the mining and energy sector more specifically companies that contributed to the development of the energy and mineral resources sector in Indonesia. “This award is given to mining stakeholders and energy that is instrumental in the development of the energy and mineral sector,” said the Minister of ESDM.

On that occasion, Jonan also asked all companies to continue to work harder and show better performance. “This event is a reflection for us to continue to improve morale in order to advance the energy and mineral resources sector,” said Jonan.

In addition, the Minister of ESDM also urged all companies to be able to work together with the government to accelerate the development of the energy and mineral resources sector, in accordance with Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution.

“I invite the community to be involved with the government in developing the energy and mineral resources sector, so that our goal of prospering the community can be realized quickly,” said the Minister of ESDM Ignasius Jonan.(*)
