Cattle Assistance is a Form of KPC’s Commitment to East Kutai Farmers

PT. Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) through the Community Empowerment (CE) Department in an effort to support the government’s program to realize food security to meet the community’s animal protein needs and the development of quality cattle, especially in East Kalimantan. Again providing cattle assistance to the community.

A total of 15 cattle assistance from KPC with details of 5 cattle will be handed over and developed at the UPTD for Animal Feed and Greenery (PHPT) Api-Api, Penajam Paser Utara under the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Service (DPKH) of East Kalimantan Province. And 10 other cattle will be handed over to the livestock group community in the ring 1 area of ​​the KPC mining operational area. A total of 30 cattle have been donated from 2023 and 2024.

The assistance came from KPC’s 2024 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. Specifically for the community in the KPC ring 1 area, the 10 cows were handed over directly by CE Manager Nanang Supriyadi accompanied by Supt_CAD Nugroho Dewanto to the Amanah Farmers Group, Sangatta Selatan District on Thursday (2/1/25). As well as the Sumber Agung Village Farmers Group, Rantau Pulung District, Friday (3/1/25). Where each received 5 cows from KPC.

Nanang Supriyadi, KPC CE Manager, met by the Satumakna.Id coverage team, explained that this assistance was part of KPC’s commitment by collaborating with the East Kalimantan Province DPKH Service in June 2023. Where KPC has committed to distributing assistance of 15 cows every year for 5 years starting in 2023 to 2028, he explained.

“This cattle assistance is a form of good cooperation between the company and the government. As well as real evidence that KPC has made a positive contribution to the community. Encouraging community development and community empowerment, as well as efforts to develop quality cattle farming to meet animal protein sources and local food availability,” he concluded.

It should be noted that KPC is also collaborating with the East Kutai Food Crops, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry Service (DTPHP) through Sangatta Field Extension Officers (PPL) in the care and health of the cattle assistance.
